Jazz Workshops for Pianists

Piano Workshop with Brant Jester is a series of two-hour, stand-alone, fun, and easy group piano classes at Upcycle Piano Craft. Interested students should be able to read and play easy piano sheet music.

Students select and enroll in classes a la carte. Each student is assigned a piano for class. Brant presents workshop concepts to the group and coaches students at their pianos. Written materials and coursework are provided to practice at home.

Classes are held from 7:00-9:00 pm. every third Tuesday at 3945 Main Street, Kansas City.

August 20, “Introduction to Bebop and Chromaticism”

September 17, “Reharmonization and Composing “

October 15, “Concepts of Rhythm and Ear Training”

November 19, “Analysis of Jazz Piano History, Listening, and Recordings”

Registration is through Eventbrite. Each class is $75.
