That Name Sounds Familiar
Tom Morse-Brown
Think you’ve heard of Vanessa Thomas? Of course you have! In June, she demonstrated her five-octave vocal talent at Upcycle Happy Hour at the Piano Shop.
Thomas returns to happy hour on the first Tuesday in December. She has a versatile command of jazz, blues, gospel, classical, and music theater. Thomas, with roots in Lawrence, Kansas, toured for several years with the well-known trumpeter Doc Severinsen, who led the NBC Orchestra on “The Tonight Show.” Thomas also sang with Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass, where she performed as the soprano, alto, and tenor soloist at Carnegie Hall. She has sung at The Blue Room in Kansas City, and holiday Pops shows with the Florida Orchestra and West Virginia Symphony. She has been an active vocal coach, mentoring hundreds of young singers over two decades.
Mark your calendar for December 3 and join us at 4:30 p.m., at the Upcycle Showroom, 3945 Main St., Kansas City, and on Facebook.
